| Sampoerna Avolutions? |
[Jun. 2nd, 2012|11:53 pm] |
Hi all, Love this community. Has anyone tried Sampoerna Avolutions? They seem to be just a long thin version of A Milds (one of my fave smokes) but I'm not sure. Anyone? Seems like such a long thin design would be hard to draw smoke through. I'm considering placing an order for some and I'd like some input. Thanks. |

A few days/weeks ago someone - I think it was here - posted about some dietary research. It identified two body types (apple/pear) and the dietary recommendations that come with each.
I remember reading the article and the post about it but cannot find it for the life of me.
Can anyone help? |

| First Clove Cigarette Purchase |
[May. 30th, 2012|03:04 pm] |
Greetings,
I had never smoked and thought I would finally try a clove cigarette after seeing a reference to them on a forum. So I called around and found a smoke shop in Carson, Ca that carried Djarums. I bought a pack of Djarum Blacks, and really liked them. I did not cough when I had my first one, and really found them soothing as I enjoyed the taste, smell and sound of the crackling as it burned. So I went back and bought a pack of Bali Hai and a pack of Vanilla Dreams. Both of these tasted more of tobacco than the Blacks, so I decided I preferred the Djarum Blacks. These were all the "cigar" versions as required by the stupid US law.
So I decided to order some from Indonesia. After spending a lot of time searching the internet, doing research, and reading all the posts on this journal, I decided to order from cassen at Inacigar.com. I saw no one making any bad posts about his website and service. So I ordered two cartons of Djarum Blacks and one carton of Gudang Garam Professionals, because they were on sale for a great price. Each carton was $15, for a total of $45. In addition, shipping, handling, and paypal fee was an additional $50 for a total of $95 for all three cartons. I did not want to use the Western Union or MoneyGram alternative which the other websites required, so this was ideal. This works out to be about $3 per pack, about half the price of the US versions. And the Gudang Garams would not be available in any form, as they do not produce a "cigar" alternate version.
Inacigar.com was perfect. They shipped the correct cartons and they arrived from Jakarta to Los Angeles, Ca in exactly 7 days, one of which was the memorial day holiday. Very impressive and I highly recommend them.
I just tried one of the GG Professionals, and I loved it. It had a very strong clove taste, and did not taste excessively of tobacco. I now know that I like strong clove flavors, not milds or menthols, though I haven't tried these alternatives.
Which brands and products would you recommend based on this preference?
Thanks to all, and here is a pic of the items mentioned above, if this link works:

Hello again. I made this post last week.
Her bum ended up protruding more and was red and bloody, so I had to take her in for an emergency visit. The ER vet said her rectum was starting to try to prolapse, and that it was probably from parasites/worms, and she gave Emma a dose of Drontal. She also expressed some of her anal glands. We were sent home with Silvadene for her bum, and told to buy Desitin to put on it as well.
Now, her anus is still protruding quite a bit. When should I worry about it again? She has a vet appointment for this Saturday (that was the soonest I could get, but I don't know how I'd know if she needed to go sooner... and I know anal prolapse can be deadly if not treated soon enough, so I feel scared.)

An open letter to Gabe and Tycho:
So, Penny Arcade finally got me to flip you guys off and not look back. After some of the stupid, genderist shit that's been blogged by the authors (mostly Mike) lately, the ridiculous "vagina" acronym in today's strip was the last straw. The strip wasn't funny, the acronym wasn't funny, and, frankly, the joke was more like something you'd pull out of the orifice EVERYONE has between their legs, not just lady-bits.
You're in august, if inane company, among webcomics that lost me through their own decay: MegaTokyo, PvP, Sluggy Freelance, User Friendly... Garfield.
Have fun being twelve, boys. |

First of all, English isn't my first language so I'm sorry if I can't explain everything properly.
On Thursday night our seven-month-old kitty Eddie fell off the balcony. It was about a 5-story-drop, he hit his nose and got a scare so we immediately ran him to the vet. The vet said he had fractured or broken his palate and he had some small bruises on his face. They did an x-ray and said all his inner organs are fine and luckily he didn't fracture any paws or anything. The doctor gave him anesthesia and put stitches on his palate. When he came home on Thursday, he was so groggy, but he did wake up on Friday morning and drank a little. However, he didn't eat anything on Friday and when we gave him pain medicine, he threw it up. We took him back to the vet, Eddie got something to help his stomach and the vet gave him pain medicine. He got really angry because the vet had to give him two shots, Eddie is a very kind cat but I guess the shots just really pissed him off. The doctor said he looked very energetic (because he was so furious about the shots, scratched us and almost tore the blanket he was wrapped in) and she wasn't worried, I still am so very worried about my baby.
Yesterday was okay, he didn't throw up but wouldn't eat either so we had to feed him with a syringe, I gave him cat milk, this nutri-gel thing that's supposed to have a lot of nutrients and energy and a bit of some kind of rehydration-support broth. The amounts weren't very big, but we managed to feed him a bit at least six times during the day. Today he drank a bit in the morning and ate maybe three pieces of ham himself but has still refused to eat on his own. We've syringe-fed him, but it's becoming harder because he resists more so we haven't managed to give him as much as yesterday.
He's still very sleepy and very quiet and I'm just so worried. He goes to look at his food but doesn't eat, he might taste one tiny bit of ham but so tiny I don't think it helps him at all. He also hasn't peed in probably 20 hours, which also worries me a lot. Of course he hasn't drunk or eaten that much, but it still worries me. Do you think his situation sounds or looks alarming? Is it normal that he doesn't want to eat or pee (or poo)? He did pee and poop on Saturday and pee this morning, but not after that (it's Sunday night in here now). He's also so very quiet and I'm just so worried about my darling baby. Is there anything else I can do for him? He has painkillers and we've given him a dose of that once every 24 hours.
If you have any insight or ideas, I would so much appreciate them. I'm planning to call a vet in the morning if he hasn't peed during the night or won't eat on his own in the morning. Thank you! |

| LJ Community Sharing |
[May. 26th, 2012|04:42 pm] |
OK, magsmom has hosted a fantabulous friending frenzy recently but there's another part of my LJ life that needs some attention... Communities!
Many of my closest friends were found in LJ Communities but so many have gone silent in recent years...
What are the communities you're enjoying today? Why do you like them? Which are pretty quiet but when someone posts, it's a good one?
My faves are longhair (lots of awesome advice about maintaining & appreciating long hair, along with lots of photos of pretty hair) and organizers (where I get to drool at the AMAZING calendars/planners that other people make and use).
In addition, I want to point out __alt_icons, which is not a community but it's where I get many of my icons & I jump for joy every time I see new icons have been posted. |

The ISS crew grabs the Dragon space capsule, making it the first commercial vehicle to be docked to the ISS. Here's Dragon and the ISS's robotic arm.
(Well, getting it berthed is in progress as I type...) |
